Trombley and Trombley light up Taylor Town at the Underground Fight Series

If Adam and Lee Trombley keep up their winning ways, they are likely to find their way to the world famous Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC). Both fighters each put on entertaining performances in their respective bouts last Saturday night. It took a little bit of time for each one to conquer their opponents but when the dust settled. Each one put the stamp on their victories.

Ann Arbor’s Lee Trombley was set to face off against a different opponent in a different weight class for the UFS 205 LB. Title. After his opponent backed out at the eleventh hour, UFS Promoter’s Bob Noble and David Robertson had to scramble to find Trombley a new foe. Enter Taylor’s Randall “The Bulldozer” Wallace. Dozer’s own opponent had decided it wasn’t his day to compete as well so the two co-headliners choose to make their legion of fans proud and step in to the cage to face off against each other. They were not disappointed!

Trombley was able to keep the fight on the feet for the whole fight. He used his fast hand speed to confuse Dozer in the stand up game, almost boxing his way to victory. Wallace proved durable enough to last until the second round and tried his best to get the takedown. It never came. Trombley’s experience and skill took over soon enough and won the fight after Referee Jake Short decided Dozer had taken enough damage. Mr. Wallace deserves a lot of credit for taking on such a dangerous opponent on short notice.

Trombley accepted the UFS LHW Title from Noble after his victory. He said, “It wasn’t the way I wanted to earn this Title but I will accept it and defend it with honor as soon as possible.”

Andrew Crushshon entered the UFS cage as the reigning 185 LB. Champion. Facing him would be Dundee wrestler turned MMA Fighter Adam “The Joker” Trombley. The first started off with a mad scramble for position. Just as Crushshon looked to get the better of Trombley, Adam picked up his opponent for a vicious slam. Trombley worked for submission’s as the first round closed.

The second round saw Crushshon doing a great job controlling the fight and found a way to stuff Trombley's takedowns. That would be the last time Crushshon would lead the fight. Trombley started the final round off with a bang by lifting and slamming Crushshon to the mat. He took Andrew’s back in a flash, locked up the side choke and the bout was over. Adam Trombley won the UFS 185 LB. Title and earned Submission of the Night all in one shot.

Two local boys put on the best show of the evening and took home the Fight of the Night award for their efforts. Romulus’s David Pardon and Lincoln Park’s Anthony Morse showed just how tough it is to put on an all out war. Pardon took the first round with excellent cage control and even got in a few slams for good measure. Morse got some great kicks in to keep Pardon at bay and kept a good pace to start the bout.

The second round was all about the clinch game as both worked very hard get the best position. Great Muay Thai skills were on display and Pardon got another slam in followed by some solid ground and pound strikes to win the second round.

Morse came at Pardon at the start of the third but was met by a hard knee in the clinch. After Pardon got another takedown and he was able to work his position and take Morse’s back. It was all academic from there as he wrapped up the rear-naked choke and got the submission victory. It was a great fight fought by both combatants.

Perrysburg, Ohio’s Patrick Flemming Jr. had a very impressive showing against Detroit’s Jay Wilson. Flemming immediately got the takedown when the fight started. After a short period of inactivity, the fight was restarted on the feet. Flemming moved Wilson to the cage, picked him up and slammed him to the mat. Patrick quickly gained the mount position again and saw the opening he needed to move to side control. In doing so, he locked up a side choke and Wilson had no choice but to tapout and conceded defeat. Look for big things from Patrick in the 185 lb. weight class in the near future. Flemming is also a Perrysburg Firefighter as well.

Taylor’s Luke Sheer, Lincoln Park’s CJ Proud, Dearborn Height’s Russell Campbell, Monroe’s Dakota Campbell, Detroit’s Drew Johnson, Westland’s Scott Brown and Kevin Martin all won their bouts in the first round.
